The Sanctuary Choir consists of volunteers (college age through seniors) who offer their voices in song each week at the 11:00 am service. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.

The choir sings a broad variety of music, ranging from spirituals to classical masterworks. Special music programs are presented during the year. Guest artists are included in these presentations and have included in the past “Messiah” by G.F. Handel, “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi, and “Christmas Oratorio” by Camille Saint-Saens, just to mention a few.

Awakening Consort 600The Awakening Band leads the congregation each Sunday for the 8:45 service in intimate worship through music of diverse time periods and cultures.

The Handbell Choir leads in Sunday worship several times throughout the year.

Other OpportunitiesĀ exist for those already involved in the Music Ministry at Emerywood to join the sanctuary choir and others to perform vocal or instrumental solos and to become a part of ensembles. For example, the Music Ministry has an annual presentation of the “A Night On Broadway” performing musical highlights from selected Broadway musicals.

Our youth are given opportunities to participate in the Music Ministry through special seasonal services. Youth are also invited to sing in the Sanctuary Choir.
