If you’re a student in grades 6 through 12, we invite you to check out our active Youth Ministry. It’s more than an awesome place for teenagers to go and hang out! It’s a family for you to connect and belong. Emerywood students are unashamedly themselves and invite you to be that too. We believe that God created us all differently to be different and want to walk through life with you as we learn together to love like Jesus.

Sundays

While we are combined into one service during the summer Students enjoy lunch together afterwards at a place of their choosing. Lets Do Lunch days in the Summer are June 11 and 25, July 2 and 9, and August 20 and 27.

While Vespers breaks during the summer, be sure to join us Sunday evenings beginning on September 10 for a relaxed time of food, games and worship.  Doors open at 5:30 for the game room and Dinner is served at 6PM before moving into the Vespers Chapel at 6:30 for games, worship and a message from Caleb. Keep up with the vespers schedule on Instagram (@emerywoodstudents) and by subscribing to the youth email newsletter.

Wednesdays

Wednesdays in the Summer look a bit different as students take part in small group took studies followed by large group fellowship events. Each week is a new location and opportunity to have fun together. From Pool Parties and Trampoline Parks to Scavenger Hunts across the triad and Messy Game Nights, all are welcome and invited to discover how wonderful Wednesdays can be.

Yearly Activities

While our activities vary by season we rotate through Fall Retreats, Spring Retreats, Disciple Now, Mission Trips (August 5-12, 2017), Camps (July 17-22, 2017), Conferences, and ongoing mission projects. Be sure to check the chalk calendar in the youth room, the Facebook page and the newsletter regularly to keep up to date with everything coming up.

FullSizeRenderThe 2017 Winter retreat was at Disney World in January with 2000 other students from around the country in 3 different denominations. The long weekend was a fantastic time of bondingand growth as our students were challenged to put their dreams for each other and the world into words and make them a reality

Students who have completed Grades 8-12, and adults of all ages will have the opportunity to serve in the heart of New York City on our Summer Mission Trip. August 4-12 we will partner with 2nd Baptist Church in Richmond Virginia to travel to Hell’s Kitchen and Brooklyn to work with Metro Baptist Church in running C.L.U.E. Camp (Children Living the Urban Experience). We will travel to Richmond and join with 2nd Baptist as we board the train and head to stay at the Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries in Metro Baptist Church. This trip provides a tangible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the world around them. For more information contact Caleb.
